Illegal trade in wildlife is now the second most important reason for population loss of endangered species. It is now very important to understand why these animals and products are trafficked, and which countries violate the CITES convention. It is shocking to see that the West, particularly the United Kingdom and the United States, continue to be huge players in the global wildlife trade.
